Three Generations

July 13 - 31, 2022

A series of exhibitions of Georgian sculptors of the last period, Three Generations was organised by Tbilisi Architects and Sculptors Association, with the financial support of Tbilisi City Hall (the leader of the project: Levan Salukvadze).

The main goal of this project was to promote and popularise modern Georgian sculpture, and it was held at the Merab Berdzenishvili International Culture Center "Muza" from July 13th to July 31st, 2022. Three exhibitions included sculptors from the last three generations, from the 1990s, 2000s, and 2010s.

The exhibitions included the works of professional sculptors from the last three generations, all graduates of the Tbilisi State Academy of Arts. The event featured 50 artists (from Georgia and beyond), with 70 sculptural works on display.

Following the exhibitions, a public talk summarised the events. The topics covered included contemporary artistic tendencies in sculpture, current political developments in Georgia, and the challenges that the authors face today.

The project was dedicated to the 100th anniversary of Tbilisi State Academy of Arts.
