Georgian Sculpture - Contemporary Interpretations

23 - 27 October, 2024

The exhibition "Georgian Sculpture - Contemporary Interpretations" took place from October 23 to 27, 2024, as part of the concluding event of the Sculpture Festival 2024. Organized by the Tbilisi Architects and Sculptors Association (TASA), the exhibition was hosted at the Merab Berdzenishvili International Culture Center "Muza." It showcased nearly 40 sculptures created by prominent sculptors working in Georgia over the past three years.

The exhibition provided a unique opportunity to explore contemporary interpretations of traditional Georgian sculpture, highlighting new approaches and innovative methods applied to the country’s sculptural tradition. It offered valuable insight into the evolution of Georgian art, focusing on recent shifts in sculptural practices.

The event also facilitated reflection on how contemporary sculpture engages with its historical roots, encouraging a deeper understanding of the intersection between tradition and modernity.

Open to the public for five days, the exhibition invited visitors to engage with these evolving artistic expressions.
