100 Years Of Georgian Sculpture

October 26, 2022

The project - 100 Years Of Georgian Sculpture, was dedicated to the 100th anniversary of Tbilisi State Academy of Arts, as well as the foundation of the sculpture faculty.

The Event was organised by TASA, with the support of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth. The exhibition was held in the Merab Berdzenishvili International Culture Center 'Muza', from October 27 to November 5, 2022.

It displayed the sculptural works of the elder generation, who had a great influence on the development of Georgian sculpture. Iakob Nikoladze, Nikoloz Kandelaki, Merab Berdzenishvili, Giorgi (Gogi) Ochiauri, Elguja Amashukeli, and other well-known Georgian sculptors were among those whose works were on display for visitors.

Sculptors, students at the Tbilisi Academy of Arts, and art experts all participated in a discussion on the challenges facing the sculpture industry during the event.

Following the event, an electronic version of the exhibition catalogue was created, which includes both scientific and illustrative content.
